Sensei Masafumi Imai uit Japan is op tweede Pinksterdag in Haarlem en komt bij ons langs om een workshop Kintsugi te geven.

Kintsugi (金継ぎ: ‘gouden verbinding’) is de Japanse kunst van het repareren van gebroken keramiek met goudkleurige lak. Volgens de Japanse schoonheidsleer zijn sporen van breuk en herstel onderdeel van de schoonheid van een voorwerp.

Tijdens deze bijzondere workshop legt sensei Imai de filosofie van Kintsugi en de Japanse cultuur uit. Hij neemt keramieken voorwerpen mee waar je uit kunt kiezen om zelf te herstellen met echt goud. Het keramiek en alle overige materialen zitten bij de workshop inbegrepen. De workshop wordt in het Engels gegeven.

Sensei Masafumi Imai from Japan will be in Haarlem on Whit Monday and will be giving a Kintsugi workshop.

Kintsugi (金継ぎ: “golden connection”) is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold-colored lacquer. According to Japanese aesthetics, traces of breakage and repair are part of an object’s beauty.

During this special workshop, Sensei Imai will explain the philosophy of Kintsugi and Japanese culture. He will bring ceramic objects for you to choose from and repair yourself with real gold. The ceramics and all other materials are included in the workshop. The workshop will be in English.
